How-To Set up SONARMANAGER so as to access with operator role
General setting, which should be used for all appliances, can be set on SONARMANAGER by proceeding as follows:
- Click on Setup > Settings => The "Settings screen opens with a view on “Common Properties” (see picture belows)
Fill the parameters values according to the explanations in the table below.
Parameter Description Common Properties
Status File Download Interval in Minutes Defines at which interval (in minutes) a SONARPLEX appliance is updated automatically.
Notice: The shorter the interval, the higher is the usage of the SONARPLEX appliance. We recommend not to set a value below the preset value of 5 minutes.Default Admin Password The administrator password of the SONARPLEX appliance. With this password, SONARMANAGER logs into a SONARPLEX appliance. Otherwise the SONARPLEX appliance cannot be configured. Default Communication Port Defines the default port to access SONARPLEX appliance and azeti AGENT. Use Aliases in Status Tree Preload Performance Charts Split Problem Views Use sounds for Problem Notification If enabled, an audio file is played in the event of a fault. Use Status Line for Problem Notification If enabled, an error message is displayed in the status line of SONARMANAGER in the event of a fault. Sound for Critical Status Choose an audio file for the acoustic indication of the CRITICAL status. Sound for Warning Status Choose an audio file for the acoustic indication of the WARNING status. Sound for Down Status Choose an audio file for the acoustic indication, when a host is down. Language Choose the language of the SONARMANAGER application. Reopen SONARVIEW Windows Check for SONARMANAGER Updates If enabled, an automatic search for a program update for SONARMANAGER is performed at regular intervals. Default SNMP Version Defines the default SNMP protocol version to be used. Default Community String Enter the default SNMP community string.
Example: public …Result Cache Time in Minutes Defines for how long the data of the last MIB scan are kept in the cache. If another MIB scan is performed within the time specified here, data from the cache are used. No further MIB scan is performed on the SONARPLEX appliance. That means no data are transferred.
Default service Templates Select the default service template. - Then click on “Ok” to save changes.
