Modpoll Client
The following instructions are optional and not necessary for the basic system usage.
Modpoll is a third party tool used to poll information from Modbus slaves through RS485. It is very useful for troubleshooting modbus problems. The installation of this tool is optional.
Installation files
Step-by-step guide
- Copy the modpoll_ex.tar file to the router (for example using SCP)
Extract the modpoll_ex.tar file on the / directory
# tar -xv -C / -f modpoll_ex.tar mnt/apps/bin/modpoll_ex mnt/apps/lib/libmbusmaster.so mnt/apps/lib/libmbusmaster.so.2 mnt/apps/lib/libmbusmaster.so.2.6.5
Try to execute it to check that the installation has been correct
# modpoll_ex modpoll_ex: Serialport or host parameter missing! Try -h for help.
To see all the available options see the available help by executing "modpoll_ex -h"
