To change default arguments for host checks which are used for host monitoring setup, proceed as follows:
Change, if necessary, the default settings, which are described in the table below and click on to check the changes.
Argument | Description |

Packet loss thresholds | The percentage of ICMP echo reply packets which can be lost before the status will result into warning or critical state. |
RTA thresholds | Average round trip time in milliseconds the returning packets must have spent at least before check results into warning or critical state. A reasonable pair of values could be something around 200.0 for warning and 1000.0 for critical, depending on network speed. |
Packets to send | Number of packets to send. Under normal circumstances you should not enter a value larger than 5 here as this can result in timeout errors as the check takes too much time to complete. A workable value is something about 2 to 3 packets. |
Timeout | Number of seconds check will spent before it turns state into critical. |
Please set all values as low as possible in order to guarantee reliable results as well as less latency penalties as possible in case of unreachable hosts. |
