User Settings

This section will contain all settings relative to the user.

My Vendors

The "My vendors" menu allows the user to upload and use XML templates to SONARPLEX appliances. This menu can be useful for following cases:

  • If using SNMP interfaces to monitor the network components without knowing the relevant OIDs of your devices.
  • For minimizing the configuration effort for a device (e.g. a switch with 48 ports or more).

Via standardized templates, the integration engine supports device manufacturers and SONARPLEX users with the integration of network components.

You can load the corresponding XML file to the SONARPLEX appliance as follows:

  1. Open the Administration Web Interface > Configuration > My Vendors
  2. In the right section of the screen, click the "Browse" button => An open-file dialogue opens.
  3. Select an XML file.
  4. Click on  to upload the selected XML file to the SONARPLEX appliance. => The XML file is displayed in a list.

After the file is uploaded, SNMP checking processes must be created for the corresponding devices assigned in the XML file. There are two options to do that:

  1. Creating SNMP checking processes by creating a new host.
  2. Creating SNMP checking processes by creating a new service.

My Properties

This menu will display user defined properties. To define a new property for a host or a service, proceed as follows:

  1. Open the Administration Web Interface > Configuration > My Properties
  2. Click on “Create new Property”
  3. Fill the settings concerning the new created property and click on  to save the property.
