Managing Extensions with the Administration Web Interface

You can manage extensions such as addons and plugins via the Administration Web Interface.

Extension types

Below shows an overview of the supported extensions.

TypeFile extension

SONARPLEX Plugin

.azsp or .azsps
SONARPLEX Addon.azse or .azses
Simple Pluginany executable like Perl (.pl), Bash Scrips (.sh) or binaries

Plugins with the .tar.gz extension are not supported anymore in SONARPLEX generation 5. All old plugins were upgraded and provided in the new .azsp Format which can be found in the azeti Portal > Downloads.

Installation of new extensions

  1. Open the Administration Web Interface> Configuration > My Plugins
  2. Choose Browse and select the new extension file and click to start the upload
  3. The installation was successful if no errors are shown in red and the last status line is OK


A newly installed Check Plugin will add a new check command to your system.

For example if you just installed check_icmp_adv2 you will recognize it appearing in the list of available check commands right after you've downloaded the configuration.

Deinstallation of extensions

The steps for the deinstallation differ depending if the extension is currently actively used by any service or host check.

Extensions that are currently used by service or host checks and thus are blocked for deinstallation are marked in green and labelled with (in use by service/host <object_name>).


Remove unused extensions

  1. Open the Administration Web Interface> Configuration > My Plugins
  2. Choose  to expand the extension that shall be deinstalled and click on  and commit the deletion in the following pup-ip

Remove used extensions

Further steps are required to remove currently used extensions such as service check plugins.

You must first of all remove all service or host checks that use the plugin until it is not marked as (in use by ...) any more in My Plugins. Proceed with Remove unused extensions afterwards.

Extensions can be found in the azeti Portal > Downloads.
